Amala is a skincare brand that combines organic ingredients with advanced biotic technology, drawing from German precision and Indian wellness traditions. Amala uses plant extracts to nourish the skin's microbiome, offering clinically proven solutions.


I envision Amala as an elegant skincare brand that embodies its cultural values through minimalist design, impactful photography, and refined typography.

The brand emphasizes sustainability, creating skincare rituals that address both physical and mental wellness.

Color Palette

Typography

For the logotype, I chose a serif font. Serif fonts are often associated with elegance and refinement, making them suitable for high-end brands and luxury products


For the Primary typeface, I chose Bodoni 72, designed by Giambattista Bodoni and Janice Fishman and published by ITC.


After iterating with various serif typefaces, Bodoni 72 emerged as the optimal choice for its elegant and minimal characteristics, mirroring the brand's visual identity and cultural values.

To ensure the typography effectively communicated the brand's luxury and modern aesthetic, I chose Bodoni 72.


To make the brand stand out from the rest of the existing brands I chose a typographic logo with typographic icons to showcase a visual gesture displayed by Bodoni 72 and Bodoni ornaments.


Brand Application


Showcases a collection of four distinct skincare products—Radiance Serum, Cleansing Bar, Purifying Mask, and Healing Cream—uniquely designed to stand out through innovative packaging incorporating thoughtful color palettes. The Radiance Serum exudes luxury with its sleek, gold-accented design, evoking brightness and sophistication. The Cleansing Bar embodies eco-friendliness with earthy tones, such as natural browns and greens, emphasizing sustainability. The Purifying Mask features a calming color palette, including soothing blues or greens, to convey detoxification and rejuvenation. Meanwhile, the Healing Cream offers a relaxing aesthetic with pastel hues or soft whites, highlighting its nourishing benefits. Through these diverse designs and color choices, this portfolio demonstrates a thoughtful approach to branding and packaging, ensuring each product resonates with its intended purpose and audience.

Incorporating AI technology through RunwayML to animate the products. This innovative use of AI in branding demonstrates a forward-thinking approach to visual storytelling, allowing for dynamic and engaging product presentations. By leveraging AI for brand enhancement, this not only showcases creative packaging design but also highlights the potential for technology to create immersive brand experiences. This combination of thoughtful design and advanced technology positions the brand at the forefront of modern marketing strategies, appealing to consumers who value both aesthetics and innovation in their skincare products.

Social Media Applications


In developing a social media brand application, I utilized Visual Electric and Runway ML, two AI-powered tools, to create visuals that effectively communicate the brand's core values and aesthetic. Visual Electric generated images tailored to our brand identity, while Runway ML enhanced our content with dynamic animations and videos. By combining these tools, I produced diverse engaging visuals that foster increased interaction and brand loyalty. This approach aligns with current digital marketing trends, enabling a dynamic and responsive social media presence that adapts quickly to user preferences while maintaining a cohesive brand identity.

I utilized Visual Electric's AI image generation capabilities to create cyanotype-inspired images that highlight our brand's elegant visual identity and enriching cultural values. By leveraging the AI tool's advanced algorithms and style presets, I generated images that emulate the distinctive blue tones and ethereal quality of traditional cyanotype photography, blending modern aesthetics with historical techniques. These visuals feature delicate motifs and textures, reinforcing our brand's commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail. The AI-generated images serve as powerful marketing assets, enhancing our social media presence and reinforcing our connection to artistic heritage and innovation.

Reflections


Learnings

I gained valuable insights into typography and how typographic logos can serve as powerful visual gestures to represent a brand's identity. Incorporating brand values and strategies, particularly those of luxury brands, helped me realize that every brand possesses its own unique sense of luxury. Experimenting with AI tools to generate images allowed me to visualize the brand more effectively, highlighting the potential of AI in enhancing branding. While focusing on visual gestures through branding presented challenges, using typography to convey those gestures was an enjoyable and creative process.



What I would do going ahead…….

Moving forward, I plan to explore more diverse logo styles, particularly illustrative designs. I'll concentrate on adhering to established luxury brand guidelines, such as those employed by LVMH and other high-end brands, rather than deviating from traditional branding principles. This approach will emphasize aligning with industry standards for luxury marketing and design.
